A bit about the speaker
Sarah Powell
Psychological Assistant & Clinical Online CBT Coordinator, Powys Teaching Health Board
Sarah has worked with children and young people for 18 years in various settings including children’s homes, children’s services, fostering, drug & alcohol and youth services. Her background is in therapeutic interventions with a degree in Arts Therapies and a PCGE in post compulsory education, and training in counselling, youth work, dyadic developmental psychotherapy & CBT.
Advocating and supporting young people is Sarah’s passion – her view is “that their capacity for growth and change is fantastic!” Sarah has enjoyed supporting transitions into adulthood for groups of vulnerable young people, the complexities of 16-25 year olds who were NEET, experiencing homelessness and engaging in risky behaviours. She is currently working with the Online CBT All Wales service as a Psychological Assistant & Online CBT Co-ordinator and was a major contributor to the development of the CYP service in Wales.
